- What versions of Mastercam are supported?
- Versions X8 through 2024 (Mastercam, Mastercam for Solidworks, and the Home Learning Edition (HLE) that are supported by the version).
- What machine types are supported?
- All machine types that are supported by the Mastercam version (Mill, Lathe, Router, Mill-Turn, & Wire)
- Do I need to know how to program in ActiveReports to make any changes?
- No, tjhe Varco Reports use a Wizard style interface to assist the user in changing the reports to fit their specific needs.
- What happens when a new version of Mastercam is released?
- Each version of Mastercam makes many changes to the report data, so the Varco Reports get updated to work with each version.
- Is there software Maintenance?
- Yes, it is included in the purchase for the first year and is optional thereafter. If you need the reports to work with a newer release of Mastercam than your current reports version you should maintain Maintenance, both to get the latest releases and support.
- What is the Maintenance Date?
- The Maintenace date is the last day of the month the reprots were purchased in. Unless renewed, this is the date that will allow any new releases to be used.
- Can the Maintenance date be pro-rated to match our Mastercam Maintenance date?
- Yes, the Maintenance date can be extended to a date after the current reports Maintenance date.
- While the reports are highly customizable already, what if we have special needs?
- For the occasional situation where your needs cannot be met with the standard reports, custom versions can be quoted.
- How are the reports licensed?
- Currently the Varco Reports are licensed per computer. One license will work with multiple users on the computer.
- Is network licensing available?
- Not at this time, it is in development.
- Is there a trial version available?
- Yes, a full function 30-day trial is initiated when the reports are first isntalled..
- Can I have different formats for different machines, or situations?
- Yes, the Setup Sheet and Tool List reports support 18 user definable formats, with several of them pre-defined for commonly used formats. Most report settings are saved per machine, so different machines can have their own settings.
- Can is save the reports to Excel so I can customize them?
- There is an option to export the report to Excel from the Export menu. This is typically used when the user needs the data for analysis. One of the goals of the Varco Reports was to be able to generate the report and eliminate the need to use additional software to get the needed result.
- Can I include photos with the Setup Sheet?
- Yes, unlimited image files can be easily added to the Setup Sheet, just select the files from a dialog. A caption describing the image can be added to each image. There are settings to control if images are to be full page or several per page..
- Is there a way to include documentation for the shop, for machine setup or any other documentation
- Up to four documentation files can be added to the Setup Sheet, and you can set where in the report each is displayed. These files can be created from a dialog within the report or imported. The files are Rich Text format, much the same as Microsoft Word. This means formatting is available and images can be included.
- How much setup is there to run the same report for the same part file at a later date?
- If the same report is run later for the same part file, any settings that were unique to the report are retained and used, such as custom image files, documentation, et.
- Can the Setup Sheet include the posted code file?
- Yes, one or more posted files can be included in the Setup Sheet. The entire file, or a number of lines you specify, can be displayed.
- What if I need information displayed on the Setup Sheet that has to be extracted from the posted code file?
- Custom versions of the Setup Sheet can parse the posted code files for specific information.
- We need to track the revision history on our posted code files, can the Varco Reports help with this?
- Yes, the Setup Sheet has the ability to maintain a log of posted code file revions, based on the posted code file date. Notes can be added to the log..
